According to a report compiled by Roger Morgan, the children’s rights director for England, children involved in court proceedings have little faith in the family justice system, with 50% believing that the courts never make the right decisions for them. CAFCASS may well have a different view given that they have the responsibility of ensuring that the child’s voice is heard in all family courts. Nevertheless, Morgan’s report, submitted to the Family Justice Review, collected the views of just 58 children who have experienced the system. One of the other findings was that social workers were seen as the most helpful professionals in terms of making the right decisions for them. Kenn Griffiths.
