End Parental Alienation
Kenneth Lane comments on World Child Contact Day
"Today's the day - World Child Contact Day! My wish for this day would be that it marks the beginning of the end for 'parental alienation' - that insidious form of child abuse so prevalent in disputed parenting cases. Ignoring or condoning PA serves to reward the abuser, reinforcing that it is 'ok'. But it is not ok and every parent and professional practitioner should be aware of PA, and deal with it. CAFCASS has actively swept such abuse under a carpet for over a decade, using it as a barrier to child contact. Alarming isn't it that child abuse is rewarded? Perhaps CAFCASS might serve a more useful purpose by installing training as a starting point, and start rescuing children's futures."
