You acknowledge that Spring Garden Consultancy Ltd does not pre-screen all user content, but that Spring Garden Consultancy Ltd and authorised, designated people shall have the right(but not the obligation) in their sole discretion to refuse or remove any content that is available on the website.

Legacy Content Policy

Legacy is a paid for service for communication received from a ‘depositor’ (who must be at least 21 years of age) and securely retained free of charge for a period of not less than 21 years, until ‘handed down’ to an appointed recipient. It is the purpose of the Legacy Service to allow the depositor to have a secure forum for self expression and freedom of speech. It is a condition of sale that the legacy documents of 100Mb plots shall be completed within 12 months from day of sale (and thereafter stored free of charge for a period of not less than 21 years).

We do not take any responsibility for the content of the Legacy, we respect the user’s ownership of and responsibility for the content and it’s purpose. We respect our user’s ownership of and responsibility for the content they chose to share. Not withstanding the user’s right to freedom of speech and expression we do have a code of practice and values within our own organisations and as such, in order to uphold these values, we need to curb abuse that threatens our ability to provide this service and the freedom of expression it encourages. To this end we would ask depositors/users to take into consideration the following content of boundaries.

Content Boundaries

The following are important in maintaining a positive experience for the depositor’s and especially the recipients who should be considered at the outset with respect and dignity.

Adult Content: we understand that adult content including images or videos that contain nudity or sexual activity may be used. However, when compiling your Legacy do take into consideration the adverse effects this type of activity may have on the recipient. Do not use Legacy to promote links to pornographic sites. You should not use Legacy to show or encourage incest or bestiality.

Child protection: we have a zero tolerance policy towards content that exploits children. Examples include; child pornography. Although we do not vet or view the Legacy documents. We will immediately terminate any accounts of any user we find publishing or endorsing child pornography. We will report any user to the law enforcement. We will make every effort to assist in any investigation by authorised person to bring convictions.

Paedophilia: We do not allow content that encourages or promotes sexual attraction towards children. For example, do not create galleries of images of children where the collection of images or text accompanying the images is sexually suggestive.

Hate crime: We accept that you will want to express your opinions, even controversial ones. But you should not publish anything that constitutes hate speech. By this we mean any content that promotes hate or violence towards groups or individuals based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, age veteran status, differences of opinion, or sexual orientation/gender identity.

Violence: Do not use Legacy to threaten other people.

Personal and confidential information: It is not acceptable to publish another person’s personal and confidential information.

Impersonating others: Leaving a Legacy is a valuable personal asset. You should not mislead of confuse your recipient by pretending to be someone else or by falsely representing an organisation where you do not. We accept that you may want to publish parody or satire. Where this is the case make sure that you let the recipient know your true position.

Illegal activities: You should not use Legacy to make contact with someone who you are not allowed to contact by order of a court or undertaking. Do not use your Legacy to promote dangerous or illegal activities.

Spam: Any use of spam no matter how slight will result in immediate deletion of your account and Legacy document.

Malware and viruses: Do not include viruses, cause pop-ups, attempt to install software without the recipient’s consent, or otherwise impact readers with malicious code.

Enforcement

If you encounter any activity that violates our content policies please report your concerns directly to info@springgarden.co.uk marked ‘Enforcement’. We will review these messages immediately and act to stop any policy violation. If we consider that the information supplied does not violate our policies we will not take any action against the Legacy or depositor. We will inform you of our decision and our reasoning behind that decision. Actions we may take to uphold a legitimate violation referral include:

  • Delete the Legacy
  • Disable the depositor’s access to the Legacy
  • Report the user to law enforcement
